Activities
Women's works
Despite the existence of a great diversity of cultural forms in the material organization of gender systems, yes it is possible to recognize, from a historical and ethnographic perspective, certain basic patterns associated with women to a range of tasks and works which may be called maintenance activities.
When referring to maintenance activities as female activities, we are not referring to all activities potentially or actually done by women, but those activities common to all women today, and, as a hypothesis, to all women in human social contexts that have shaped historically and following different socio-cultural paths, some specific knowledge and some ways of management and implementation, eminently relational.
These are the activities which will lead, in different areas, the experiences of women in different historical and cultural contexts over time.
